Rullino i tamburi… squillino le trombe… e soprattutto fruscino le pagine dei LIBRI, ora e sempre!!!

Ebbene sì, la sottoscritta lascia per un fine settimana le terre del Nord per tornare nella città che le diede i natali (e anche pasque, pasquette e ferragosti).

Come potevo rifiutare l’invito della miticherrima Rituzza mia (al secolo Rita Charbonnier, scrittrice e sceneggiatrice da culto, mio paziente mentore, ma soprattutto amica senza pari)? No eh!!! Nun se fà!

Daniele, 8 anni, sta crescendo proprio come il figlio nerd che ho sempre desiderato. Tanto da propormi lui stesso film di fantascienza e di generi correlati da andare a vedere al cinema, per esempio.

Dopo avergli detto che appena fosse uscito il nuovo film Avengers lui e la sorella avrebbero dovuto portarmi a vederlo (proprio così), lui si gira e mi fa: mamma andiamo a vedere Humandroid! Io, che a parte serie tv in streaming o cartoni animati, da qualche anno a questa parte, non guardo, ho ammesso la mia ignoranza riguardo l’esistenza di questo nuovo film ma ho accettato di buon grado, fidandomi del mio piccolo Sheldon Cooper e pregustando un pomeriggio al cinema insieme a lui, dicendomi: magari è l’ennesimo film di fantascienza che fa ca..re, ma contento lui…

Nerd sì infatti, parlando ora dei miei gusti, ma anche piuttosto esigente: avendo in qualche modo ereditato questa passione per la fantascienza da nostro padre, sia io sia mia sorella e mio fratello siamo cresciuti a pane e 2001 Odissea nello Spazio (con il risultato che ogni volta che vediamo una scimmia sobbalziamo). Quello che ci accomuna però, anche, è il senso critico: fantascientificamente onnivori d’accordo, ma film tipo The Inseminator, al di là della scelta più o meno felice riguardo la trama, nun se possono proprio guardà, ammettiamolo. Dylan Dog e la sindrome di Asperger: molto fumo e niente arrosto. Recensione del numero di aprile 2015

Cari lettori,

non è mia abitudine, come sa chi mi conosce bene, postare recensioni e commenti che possano creare flame e polemiche inutili. Ma quando ce vò ce vò.

Ieri, tornando a casa, decido di passare in edicola, acquistando l’ultimo numero del fumetto Dylan Dog, che da adolescente compravo abitualmente, apprezzandone storie e disegni. Non sono una patita del genere horror, ma quando si tratta di prodotti di qualità, come era per me questo fumetto, l’appuntamento mensile era d’obbligo.

Parlo al passato, perché, mentre i disegni del numero di aprile “Fumo della battaglia” – titolo che d’altra parte non ha senso, se non quello a mio avviso raffazzonato, dell’ultimo secondo, o potrei dire “all’ultima vignetta” – la sceneggiatura è talmente piena di buchi – neri, trattandosi di horror – che farebbero rivalutare a Hawking le sue teorie.

unnamedOn June 22th, on the distinguished American website The Shakespeare Standard, the lovely Deborah Voorhees published a serious and passionate review of my book A Double Heart for His Single One. A Much Ado About Nothing Experience.  I am so glad for this review because, as who read the Foreword to this book already knows, this e-book originates from a series of posts I published in 2011 on the same website, thanks to the kind collaboration of Administrator Jeremy Fiebing and the patient editing of Copy Editor Lacy White. I will never stop thanking Jeremy and all The Shakespeare Standard staff for their disinterested and lovely support for any project I share with them.

From the review: 

For most, a story such as Maciocci’s would become nothing more than a chat among friends: “I bought the tickets; I loved show, or the show was mediocre, but still loved my trip…” but not for Maciocci. From this day forward she started blogging about her adventures in The Shakespeare Standard, and now she has compiled those musings in her book, A Double Heart for His Single One (newly released on Amazon).

What exactly is the book about? Many things. It chronicles her anticipation and preparation for what she calls her big MAAN date (Much Ado About Nothing) with an easy to understand analysis of the text (perfect for students and life-long learners who wish to understand the play), interviews with friends who were able to see the production first, and lastly her review of MAAN, which is now available on DigitalTheatre.com (captured live from the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre).

On the 2nd of June 2014, thanks to the precious help (and patience) of talented writer and peerless friend Rita Charbonnier and her (or should I say ours) Scrittura a tutto tondo project, I published through Narcissus.me platform my e-book A Double Heart for His Single One.

From the e-book foreword:

This is a story about love (for Shakespeare of course, English Theatre, the UK, and yes, for Doctor Who too).

It is also a diary about a journey to London, and a literature essay (it includes a complete exegesis about Much Ado About Nothing! – for Dummies, maybe, but it actually does). 

But this is mainly a story about friendship.

When, in January 2011, I bought my ticket for that summers production of Much Ado About Nothing (starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate, directed by Josie Rourke), I could not have imagined that so many good things would come from that experience. […]

What I could not know, is that I would meet some of the nicest people in the David Tennant fandom, terrifically lovely women with a rich private life (we are not talking about stalkers, that is maybe superfluous to be stated, but I need to say that). Those days in July, three years ago, we met to share a theatre experience, an event, but mainly to BE together, to have a nice chat and some nice food, to be friends, that’s it.

Sono passati quasi tre anni da quando ho preso in mano per la prima volta un libro scritto da Rita Charbonnier, e dal nostro incontro presso il Salone del Libro di Torino, nel maggio 2011.images (2)

Dovessi scrivere un articolo puramente giornalistico su “Rita Scrittrice”, oltre a definirla musicista, attrice, cantante, e naturalmente scrittrice di talento, attingerei pienamente a termini come “poliedrica” ed “eclettica” e a relativi sinonimi, tutti ovviamente positivi. Direi ancora, che tali aggettivi, piuttosto che categorizzare, potrebbero solo aprire il sipario, per rimanere in tema artistico, alla scoperta dei diversi “doni” che un artista come Rita può riservare a chi decide di fermarsi ad ascoltare la sua voce.
